Check out Brad and Jeff of Urban Velo Magazine on their ride to our benefit party in August 2008. Brad has a long bike, great for hauling lots of stuff or heavy loads.
We are located inside the Construction Junction Warehouse, 214. N. Lexington St in North Point Breeze
Our entrance is a smaller swinging gate, north of the parking lot’s larger sliding gate, but south of the entrance to the Center for Creative Reuse.
Low Traffic Bike Routes:
Universities to Free Ride passing through Oakland, Squirrel Hill, North Point Breeze
Downtown to Free Ride Passing through: Point Breeze, Shadyside, Oakland, Uptown, downtown
Downtown to Free Ride Passing through: Point Breeze, East Liberty, Bloomfield, Strip District, Downtown
From downtown and Oakland, we are accessible from the 71C and 67 bus routes. Both Travel along Penn Ave, ask to get off at “Lexington St.”
From 376, get off at the Edgewood/Swissvale exit. Take Braddock Ave toward Pittsburgh. Cross Penn Ave, then make the next left onto Meade St. Follow Meade for two blocks, then make a right onto N. Lexington St.
Please park your motorized vehicle on the far side of Lexington, or on Thomas. Construction Junction’s lot is for their customers (and they generally lock their gate before we do). If you’re dropping off donations by our gate, leave your blinkers on so you don’t get a ticket!
Bicycles should be either secured to our rack inside the gate (and out of the rain), or signed in and clamped to a workstand. Please don’t leave your bike lying around the shop; we don’t want some well-meaning volunteer to treat it as a donation…
